this is a Historic first in podcasting. This is part of a series of the first los angeles council meeting to be streamed for the public to watch on demand!

Chance the Derby Manager speaks out infront of a crowd of supporters for Save The Derby and against the Adler Realty plan to tear down the historic structure. In its place they want to put up 80 condos and mixed retail.

When you watch you tell he is full of emotion. He states that Adler is giving out one message and under the table doing another. So what exactly is goin on? Watch the video to find out.

On Nov 1oth the Los Feliz community gathered to show their support for saving the historic Derby building. Each side was allowed 20 minutes to state their side. This is the Save the Derby Coalitions Argument

the Save the Derby Coalition in cooperation with the "Royal Crown Revue" Teamed up to get the word out to "Save the Derby". Rebecca Goodman and her crew of merry men (and women) Set up historic posters and T-shirts at the entrance as well as a team to gather signatures for the petition. From my account they probably got a couple hundred signatures!

Now that you watched the news segment on the Derby check out what was really going on behind the scenes! The news piece was nice but it really did not show what A great place the derby is! Alot of the scenes looked forced for the camera. The couple kissing, the older couple dancing. When in fact 10 minutes later there was a jumping and jiving dance concert by the royal crown revue and a dance off! The Derby is historic but please dont make it look like an old folks home.

A woman in the group shouts out "They need to go to Italy to see how they should preserve buildings!" Then a gentleman from the Los Angeles conservancy replies that they believe the derby building is historic.

Maybe the derby can be saved says realty rep!

Tonight was a development meeting for Adler Realty and the community of Los Feliz. The Turnout was surprising and I think it surpried the realty reps. Who stood across the room with mostly their arms crossed and un happy faces at the large turnout. Did they really think nobody would show? After all they want to demolish the historic hollywood Derby building built back in 1928 by Cecil B. Demille and later became one of the chain Brown Derby restaurants. Many hollywood films have been shot there including Mildred pierece and Swingers!
