It's outstanding that someone or someones took the time to so quickly put together this wonderful video of hope. There are tens of thousands of Stanleys and Gracies (cats) in the United States, alone, who need to be rescued from an otherwise sure-death situation.
Excellent Christmas Present for Stanley! If only more folks would stop for just one moment to pay it forward for all needy animals. Thanks for putting this video together!
This is one of the best videos I've seen. I will share it at our upcoming house party fundraiser for our rescue in New Jersey called Shelter Showcase. Thank you for this inspiring and touching video. Very impressive work!!
This is a wonderful video, sent to my breed group list by another long time breeder who supports rescue of our breed, and it is SO true, it only takes "one" to help and the "one" that is helped is the only "one" who matters at that moment.I am a long time breeder and exhibitor of my breed and also a long time rescuer. I'm burned out and sick of being angry and sick all the time because too many other breeders don't seem to "get it" with regards to the fact that they're all "our dogs". I am currently trying to find help for 10 and 12 year old girls whose owner lost their home. It's not their fault but they were brought to a vet to be put down, the humane thing to do. We are trying to stop that from happening, but finding people willing to adopt or foster seniors is very difficult, after all, they won't live long anyway, right? (not my feelings, but what do I know?)There are many "pet people" in our breed who have done all they can to help in this case and many others. THEY are the "ones" who always seem to step up to the plate to help. What is wrong with those breeders out there who don't seem to feel it's their responsibility to help any dog in their breed needing help? It's like beating my head against a stone wall - I'm sick of the entire situation. Any constructive advice on how to drum up some help is greatly appreciated!
Beautiful deed and eloquently done video. Stanley's story needs to go viral, to give strength and inspiration that will help the other Stanleys who wait ....
My husband and I are fosters with Heartland Labrador Rescue here in Oklahoma, and we've been fostering for a Lab/Pointer mix named Stanley since April of this year. It has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my life and I hope this video will inspire more people to do their part to make a difference. One thing that everyone should do is have ALL of their pets spayed or neutered to help end pet over-population. Every breeder out there should see this video and take heart to know that they're just helping to keep our shelters full and euthanizing dogs and cats just like Stanley. God bless you folks that put this video together, it is definitely a tear jerker!! I'll be passing this one on to all of my address book...
A wonderful tribute to those good hearted invaluable rescuers .....That boy deserved a break. So many, too many deserve, but we can only do one at a time. Make that ONE count. Thanks so much for sharing such an inspiring story, true story. Gives us courage, even tho we lose so many, we can save one. Until they ALL have a home.
THANK YOU THANK YOU to the rescue worker who got the message out about this dog. I really want to know Stanley is okay. Can you post a follow up!? Stanley was the VICTIM of a BAD owner. There are no bad dogs. Only BAD OWNERS :( We love you Stanley!

Hello to Mukwah - unfortunately, YouTube removes the music from our rescue videos and either leaves it with no sound or substitutes their own pre-approved music. That is why we now host our videos here on blip.tvSo sorry! And to everyone whom has been emailing us and offering kind words of support - thank you to each and every one of you. I know we all are trying to do our best to save the Stanleys of the world, just one person, doing one thing, saving one dog at a time.Thank you! Much love, Cathy and the cockers from Camp Cocker Rescue
I have to say I look online everyday for hours after I get home from work at all the animals in the shelters, on Craigslist, etc. and my heart breaks because I wish I could run out and save all of them. I try to do my small part, but last night I came across a dog at the Irving Animal Shelter in Texas and thought to myself "that poor dog will never be adopted, will end up being PTS because one she's a mixed breed, two she was skinny and three she had the mange really bad". Sad thing is she's 7 months old. I went to bed saying to myself, I can't keep looking at these websites its tearing me apart to see this, and made it my New Years Resolution not to look at anymore shelters. Well I have one more day right? So I hop online when I get home, and someone from the Saginaw Shelter has posted this video on Craigslist, and just happened to be the second one on the list that I clicked. I have cried, forwarded to everyone I know, posted on my facebook page and decided my New Years Resolution has changed. Thank you Camp Cocker Rescue and to Stanley. I realized I might be one person, but I can hopefully make a difference to "just one dog". If anyone knows of a rescue in Dallas/Fort Worth area that might be willing to take a look at Munchkin located in Cage 3 at the Irving Shelter please email me at alisonjustice@yahoo.com.What a beautiful, heartbreaking, wonderful story!!!
Alison . . . . your comment has just made my day! Stanley's rescue maybe was the inspiration you needed, so that you can keep on plugging ahead . . . it only takes one person to do just one thing for one dog - that is all! When we break it down to such a simple thing, it isn't as overwhelming. Why don't you phone the Irving shelter and ask them if they can keep your special dog in cage 3 alive a few more days, go back, get some pictures and video and begin the process of just asking for help? That is all it took for me and Stanley and look at how many people jumped in, each doing their own part. Seven months old is too young, just a baby. Please let us know how your own rescue story plays out and keep up the good work. We can't save them all, but we can save one dog at a time - all of us together, each doing our own part. Good luck Alison! Will be thinking of you and wondering what becomes of doggie in Cage 3.Much love to all and Happy New Year! Cathy and the cockers from Camp Cocker Rescue (Los Angeles, CA)

Send via old-fashioned email.Let's get this seen by tens of thousands .... there is great potential to inspire others to save more Stanleys.
Seeing Stanley's story and the the other animals brought tear to my eyes. I was happy to see that Stanley had a happy ending. I hope others have the same happy ending as Stanley. I will pass this video on to others and hope more people realize the need in helping these animals. I am now going to give my dog Tess a big hug and scratch her belly. Thanks Dad for sending this to me.
Thank you for this most tender video! It broke my heart...but we all need to know and spread the plight of so many dogs! Four years ago at Christmas, I saw a sad looking dog on TV during a news report about a crowded shelter in a town near me. This little dog had the look of having given up, as the faces were scanned. I rushed to the shelter and brought this wonderful dog home. ...although I had two rescues at the time! He is the BEST dog I have ever known and i know...that he knows he was saved that Christmas! Blessings! I hope everyone will pass this video on...As Albert Schweitzer so kindly said,"Think occasionally of the suffering of which you spare yourself the sight."
I got an email from just one person in '09 about an animal shelter in PA being shut down and many animals in danger of being put to sleep. The email pleaded for everyone to try to save one animal. I looked through the list of animals, drove 10 hours in the snow- and adopted a 7 year old mutt named Devon.Devon had been originally adopted from the shelter as a puppy- but then after 5 years of happiness his owners lost their home to foreclosure. He ended up in the same shelter and stayed there for 2 years. He lived in a pen with many dogs -cramped and depressed. I brought him home and after 3 baths, Devon shined up like a new penny. After 3 months I felt he was ready to go to his forever home. I put him on pet finder and in a day I got several emails about him- one being his forever home. Devon is now the center of the universe for two older women, where he spends his weekends running at his lake house upstate- all because of one random email which tugged at my heart :)
jane444- highlight the www.blip.tv.file address at the top of the page and the cut and paste it into the "what's on your mind" part of your face book page.It will then show up on your wall as a link. i hope that made sense for you. oh and on most PC's you can right click with your mouse to cut and then do the same to paste- or go to edit to do the same thing..
Stanley is at Respect-a-bull Rescue at http://www.respect-a-bull.com/ You can get updates in the blog section.Stanley will find a home. The message is that we all do one thing, there are lots more stanley's out there waiting to get home, get help. If you can donate your time to take the dogs for a walk, transport to groomers, vets, homes, donate a bag of food or even just a can of food, recycle old leashes, collars, toys and blankets, or even just to forward a listing, you are doing something,
The trouble is people will buy pets for their kids or even themselves, thinking how cute they are when they are puppies and then when they don't take the time to care for them, train them or realize that they are an expense (just like having children), they cast them aside to fend for themselves or if they act up they abuse them and then dump them. There are so many dogs at shelters as well as cats and other animals that once belonged to someone and now are locked up in cages waiting their deaths since there are far too many of them who weren't fixed or let go. The over population is due to HUMANS not doing their duty when they got the dog in the first place. Puppies grow up and become DOGS. There are tons of stories like Stanley at shelters all across this country. It is sad to think that these precious animals are so abused by human beings. Thank goodness for caretakers and rescuers for these creatures. They have feelings just like humans. All they want is to be loved and cared for. Treat them as you want to be treated. For the most part, you wouldn't treat your child like this or even yourself. Don't be cruel to animals!
